The practice manager is responsible for the administration of the practice and would be happy to hear your views and suggestions about the services offered.
The Reception Staff
The staff behind the reception desk will assist in making appointments to see a doctor, answer numerous and varied questions and offer help and assistance at all times. It is a legal and contractual requirement that confidentiality of patients’ records is maintained at the highest level by all staff.
The Practice Nurses
The practice nurses can give advice and help on many aspects of health – see the clinics page for details.
The District Nurses
The district nurses attend patients who are unable to attend the surgery and require skilled nursing care in their own homes. They can inform, advise and support the elderly and those who care for them.
They can be contacted at the surgery on their direct phone number: 01865 342171. Please leave a message on the answer phone and they will return your call.
The Health Visitor
The health visitor can give information, advice, support and help concerning health care and social issues, usually to new mothers, babies and pre-school children. The health visitor is a nurse who has undertaken specialist training in child health and development. She may be seen by appointment; she also operates a drop-in clinic on Tuesday mornings at the surgery, during the child health clinic. She can arrange a home visit if necessary.
The health visitor co-ordinates the immunisations of babies and toddlers against childhood diseases; diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hib, polio, measles, mumps, rubella and meningitis C.
She can be contacted at the surgery on her direct phone line: 01865 407372. Please leave a message on the answer phone and she will return your call.
Monday to Friday 9.00am – 12 noon.
The midwife can advise and help with all aspects of health for mothers-to-be, new mothers and new babies. She can be contacted via the surgery or contacted at St George’s Ward, Wallingford Hospital: 01491 826037. Most of the care is provided at the surgery. More complex cases will be seen in hospital, mainly The John Radcliffe. Scans are also done at The John Radcliffe Hospital.
We have a practice counsellor who holds sessions at the surgery once a week, by appointment, following a referral from one of the doctors.
